I think that these items are important and would be useful if you were stuck out at sea. Although, funny thing, one my 10 things to take with me would be a boat! Why do you think these items are important for survival?
To improve, maybe you could add in what the task was. Because, although we know what you needed to complete (which was to make a list), we don't know the specifics. Is out at sea? Stuck on an island?
